Neale's Disorders of the Foot and Ankle, 7th Edition
editors

Lorimer D, French G, O'Donnell M, Burrow JG, Wall B

Review
It is hard to believe that this book could achieve the distinction of an Equus Award. I hated Neale's common foot disorders in its earlier editions. When it was released as a 6th edition, I actually sat up and took notice. Now the 7th edition has got class  written all over it (pardon the pun). (read more)

McGlamry's Forefoot Surgery
editors
Banks AS, Downey MS, Martin DE, Miller SJ

Review
After many years of creating the benchmark in Podiatric Surgical Literature in the full, un-expedited comprehensive textbook of foot surgery comes a brilliant textbook dedicated to the forefoot. This is a must for all foot surgeons that realise that the bread and butter of podiatric surgery is in the forefoot. (read more)

Foot and Ankle Radiology by Robert Christman

Review
This long awaited book of Dr Christman's was certainly worthy of the wait. This has become one of the biggest selling textbooks of 2003 and is now considered to be a compulsory clinical reference by many Podiatrists worldwide. There are few textbooks I would consult regularly and this has become one of the few. The section on normal variations is of great significance as well as chapters on biomechanical interpretation. The Malalignment Syndrome by Wolf Schamberger

Review
The Malalignment Syndrome describes a newly recognised syndrome that commonly occurs in patients seen by physicians, chiropractors, physiotherapists, massage therapists and veterinarians. Although the symptoms are familiar to those working in the field they are often treated independently and their collective cause goes unrecognised. In this book the author presents the evidence for looking at the group of symptoms involved and treating them as a single syndrome with a single cause - biomechanical malalignment. (read more)

Review

McGlamry's Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Third Edition is a standard core text in podiatric education, for those who specialize in managing the many problems of the foot and ankle. New content for the Third Edition includes: biomaterials; expansion of the external/internal fixation devices (pins, staples, cannulated screws); principles of fixation; and expansion of neurological disorders material. There is also a new chapter on selected rearfoot arthrodeses. (read more)

Musculoskeletal Disorders of the Lower Extremity by Lawrence Oloff

Review
A complete rheumatology text, with emphasis on the foot and ankle. It examines the wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders and syndromes formerly referred to as 'arthritis', and covers basic aspects, clinical features, radiologic diagnosis and laboratory evaluation. This book we believe WILL BECOME THE GOLD STANDARD on rheumatology of the lower extremity. It is the most comprehensive text in this field ever to be released, while at the same time it is very valuable in the clinic as well. (read more)

Foot Orthoses by Tom Michaud

Review
The first edition of this text was the highest selling biomechanics text in Australia since Root, Orien and Weed's 'Normal and Abnormal function of the foot, Volume 2'. Indeed the first edition of this book was the ideal successor to ROW's text. In addition, Thomas Michaud has become the leading authority on foot manipulation and his additional chapter on foot manipulation in relation to biomechanical foot therapy was a world first.(read more)

Review
Possibly the most outstanding contribution to the educational development of Podiatrists in the fields of Medicine. This textbook has been used as a benchmark of medical knowledge required of Podiatrists practising throughout the world. A wonderful summary of essential knowledge and stands as an essential textbook for Podiatrists even 10 years on.

1977 RETROSPECTIVE AWARD
Normal and Abnormal Function of the Foot by Merton Root William Orien and John Weed.

Review
No doubt the most significant textbook in the development of modern day knowledge of biomechanics of the foot and leg. A great deal of gratitude should be extended by all modern day lower extremity practitioners to what is possibly the most significant textbook ever written on this subject.
