The first edition of this text was the highest selling biomechanics text in Australia since Root, Orien and Weed's 'Normal and Abnormal function of the foot, Volume 2'. Indeed the first edition of this book was the ideal successor to ROW's text. In addition, Thomas Michaud has become the leading authority on foot manipulation and his additional chapter on foot manipulation in relation to biomechanical foot therapy was a world first.
This 2nd edition however makes the first steps towards shedding some of the previously ingrained ideas regarding foot function, takes the ideas of the new literature and incorporates it into a clinically useful and state-of-the-art text.
If there is only one book that you should buy this year, this is it. Anyone practising in the field of lower extremity biomechanics should read this book.
